About Me

I’m a mid-40’s husband and father of three from a small town along the Trans AmTrail called Farmington, MO.  I’m a cyclist (road and MTB), runner (casually) and backpacker. In general, I just like to be outdoors. I bought my first bike, a used Giant road bike from my brother-in-law, in October of 2010. By the spring of 2011, I was hooked. In the fall of 2011, I toured the Trans Am west to east. In June of 2015, I took part in my first bikepacking race (think fast touring), Trans Am Bike Race. Although TABR15 turned out to be incomplete for me, I doubled down and went back to race the Trans Am again in 2016, finishing 16th in the solo classification.
