So time has ticked away and I am now down to 1 day. That’s right! 1 day until I fly out. Tomorrow morning I will be flying to Portland to begin this journey. It is hard to believe that the time has come!
Over the last few weeks, I have been buying, making and sorting gear. I basically have everything ready. I do have a couple small things I will be doing with gear today, but nothing earth shattering. The biggest task is packing my bike and gear in a big box in such a fashion that TSA doesn’t destroy anything when they go through my stuff. Hopefully anyway.
Yesterday I made a video (3 videos in a series actually) of my gear. Click on the YouTube link and check it out. Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel while you are there!
The race starts next Saturday, June 6th at 5AM in Astoria, OR. You will be able to follow the race via satellite trackers on trackleaders.com That link goes to their home page. The link to the TABR page will be http://trackleaders.com/transam15, but as of now, it isn’t live yet. It should be in a few days. Be a “blue dot junkie” and keep up with the race!
Another site to check out is mtbcast.com where you can find pod casts of racer call ins from Tour Divide, Trans Am Bike Race and several other races. I plan to call in daily, as long as I have cell service, and giving my report of what is going on.
So that’s it for now. I have a ton of chores to wrap up before I head out in the morning so I’ll keep this short. I will update everyone here with a post and my plan/timeline for next week pre-race once I’m in Oregon. Cheers and ride on!
